Road to 40 Lesson 5: Quitting is Easy

Today’s blog post is very simple but one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned as I approach 40: Quitting is easy.

While quitting is easy, the real test comes as to if you’ll choose to back out or push forward full steam ahead with what you’re supposed to do.

You can’t quit every time something doesn’t make sense.

You can’t quit when things don’t appear to go the way you hoped the first time around.

You can’t quit when a plan you’ve had is rejected.

You can’t quit your fitness journey when the scale isn’t moving as quickly as you want so you can reach your ideal weight.

You can’t quit when you uncover and discuss the uncomfortable, deeper layers of yourself with a therapist in order to heal.

You can’t quit “showing up” when you’re discouraged and want to throw in the towel.

You can’t quit owning your wrongs and making them right.

Quitting is easy. It is. But, you can’t give up on yourself.

Push.

Push. Move.

Push. Move. Trust.

Push. Move. Trust. Hope.

Quitting is easy. It is. But, if you quit now, you won’t see nor enjoy the wonders that await you. So, decide what’s inside of you and be intentional about which choice you will make.

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn.”
Helen Keller
